HC Kometa Brno and ARENA BRNO Sign Framework Agreement for T ARENA

The agreement was signed during a joint meeting by HC Kometa Brno owner Libor Zábranský and Petr Kratochvíl, Chairman of the Board of ARENA BRNO and Brno City Councillor for Transport and Municipal Holdings.

“At the beginning of May, I publicly stated that our goal is for Kometa to play its first game in the new multifunctional arena on 10 January next year against Sparta. There are still a few details to finalise, but I see today's signing of the framework agreement as an important step towards making that plan a reality,” said Libor Zábranský.

“Signing this agreement with HC Kometa Brno is a significant milestone for us. Kometa has long been a symbol of Brno sport, and we see its presence at T ARENA as a key element in the venue's future success. We are convinced that the new arena will provide both fans and players with facilities that meet the highest standards of modern European venues. In addition, attendance at Kometa's home games will increase by several thousand seats, allowing more than 12,300 spectators to enjoy each match. We look forward to our cooperation and believe that fans will fill T ARENA to capacity. I would also like to thank my colleagues and our legal team for their outstanding cooperation,” said Petr Kratochvíl, Chairman of the Board of ARENA BRNO.

“The signing of the framework agreement with Kometa marks another important milestone in the T ARENA project. Brno is gaining a modern multifunctional venue that will become a worthy home for elite sport as well as a destination for major cultural and social events. I am delighted that Kometa will be part of its story from the very beginning,” said Brno Mayor Markéta Vaňková.

The framework agreement sets out the principles of cooperation between the two parties, particularly regarding the use of the arena for Czech Extraliga games, marketing cooperation, and operational coordination.

Once completed, T ARENA, currently under construction at the Brno Exhibition Centre, will rank among the most modern multifunctional arenas in Central Europe. In addition to hosting ice hockey games, it will welcome concerts, cultural events, congresses, and other major occasions. With its scale, state-of-the-art design, and multifunctional concept, it will become one of the Czech Republic's leading venues for sport, culture, and entertainment while further strengthening Brno's position on both the national and international stage.
